Thai massage and spa therapists
Thai massage is the most requested skill we see: 31 of our first 50 employer requests. We source certified therapists through licensed Thai agencies for day spas, hotel spas, wellness centres and men's spas.
Roles
Who we can source
Thai massage therapist
Traditional Thai massage, the core skill. Most therapists also work with oil, foot and herbal compress treatments.
Oil, aroma and deep tissue
Body treatments for hotel and day spas, with the techniques listed in each candidate file.
Foot reflexology
Usually a separate course in Thailand, taken together with Thai massage.
Male therapists
For men's spas where staff and clients must be of the same gender, as in Saudi Arabia and Oman.
Senior therapist and trainer
Experienced therapists who can open a spa, set the treatment menu and train a team.
Beauty and nails
Salon all-rounders and beauty technicians, recruited alongside a spa team.
Qualifications
What the certificates mean
Thailand regulates massage training. These are the documents that matter for work abroad, and the ones we ask partner agencies to put in every file.
- 150-hour Thai massage course. Taught in a programme approved by the Ministry of Public Health, Department of Health Service Support. The standard document for spa work.
- National skill standard. A practical test to the Department of Skill Development standard for Thai massage, where the destination asks for it.
- More hours where required. Some markets ask for more. Dubai, for example, licenses massage therapists with 500 hours of training and two years of experience.
